Student Account 11 To 19 Years

Why do we offer students more?

It’s simple. Because in ten years time, we want you to still be one of our customers. The Bank of Ireland UK student account (11-19 years) is full of great features to help you get exactly what you want from your bank.

A Cash card

With a Bank of Ireland UK Cash card you can get cash at any of our cash machines all over Ireland and in cash machines in the UK displaying the LINK symbol. You can do the following at most Bank of Ireland ATMs:

Maestro card (for students over 16 only)

If you are aged 16 to 19 years old you are eligible to apply for a Bank of Ireland UK Maestro card. With a Maestro card, you can shop and pay for your purchases directly from your account, and it also saves you carrying cash around. It’s quick, easy and a better way to pay.

Your Maestro card also allows you to pay for goods and services worldwide wherever you see the Maestro sign. It’s just like using your card in shops and at ATMs at home and it means you don’t have to travel with large amounts of cash, so it’s perfect for school trips abroad. Charges will apply when you use your card outside the UK. Please see our “Student charges explained” brochure for details. If you are under 18, we will need parental consent in order to process your application.

365 Online and Phone (for students over 16 only)^
