The Students Loans Company provides financial services to students.  You can find details on how to apply for financial support, maintain your account and repay any loan, on the Student Finance NI website. You can also use this website to quickly and easily change your bank details for your student loan.

The types of help available for new full-time higher education students include:

·         Tuition fee loans to cover the full cost of tuition fees

·         Maintenance loans to cover the cost of living expenses

·         Grants for living costs to cover the cost of living expenses

·         Bursaries and scholarships from universities and colleges

·         Students can also get extra help if they have children or adult dependants, or have a disability or specific learning difficulty.

The repayment of the loan begins after you have left higher education and are earning over £15,000.

Your loan is usually paid in three instalments, one at the start of each term, directly into your bank account. Student Finance NI will issue a payment schedule letter to you which will explain what amounts will be paid and when.
